Checking Halal Information Before Buying Surplus Food
La Tabdhir does not provide a blanket halal guarantee. Learn what to ask a store about ingredients, preparation and certification before booking.
A Listing Is Not a Halal Certificate
La Tabdhir does not certify every store or surprise bag as halal. A platform listing, business review or dietary tag is not proof of halal certification, and we do not guarantee that every listed item meets a particular dietary requirement.
The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology publishes information on its halal conformity programme and a directory of registered halal certification bodies. These resources concern certification; they do not certify La Tabdhir's listings.
What to Ask the Store
Before deciding to book, ask the store:
- Which ingredients and products may be included in the bag?
- What can it confirm about preparation, handling and shared equipment?
- If it claims certification, who issued it, what products or premises does it cover, and is it still valid?
- Can it provide the supporting information before you commit to the purchase?
If the information is insufficient for your requirements, do not rely on a generic tag or on this article to resolve that uncertainty.
Allergens and Food Safety Are Separate Questions
Halal information does not establish that food is suitable for a particular allergy. Ask for specific ingredient and cross-contact information before buying. Follow the store's handling and use instructions; do not consume food that appears unsafe.
Stores remain responsible for accurate information and applicable food-safety requirements. A discount or business review is not a guarantee of safety. See the customer terms for the platform's current disclosures and reporting channels.
Launch Status and Prices
La Tabdhir is preparing for launch. Current demonstration listings do not establish a network of participating restaurants in any emirate. Join the waiting list for updates; actual locations and offers will need to be confirmed when available.
We do not publish a guaranteed discount or a typical saving based on demonstration data. Compare the store's reference price and the final amount due for the actual offer.
